About the practice
Dr. Lina Pelican opened the doors on Ponce de Leon in 2009 with one rule: build the kind of dental office she'd want her own family to visit.
Calm waiting room. On-time visits. The same team who knows your name. That's the whole pitch — and after sixteen years, it's still the whole pitch.
We're three dentists, two hygienists, and a front-desk crew that's been together more than a decade. Most of our patients have been with us long enough that we now treat their kids — and a few of those kids are starting to bring their own kids in.
We invest in modern equipment so visits are faster and quieter — same-day crowns milled in-house, low-radiation digital x-rays, intraoral cameras so you can actually see what we see. And we invest in continuing education so what we recommend stays current with the research.
But mostly we invest in the small things. Warm blankets. Bose headphones. A music library that isn't lite-FM. Coffee that doesn't taste like a waiting room. A front desk that already knows your insurance before you walk in.
Dentistry is a vulnerable business. The small things matter.
Four things that quietly shape every visit.
If you don't need the treatment, we won't recommend it. If a watch-and-wait is the right call, we'll say so.
We confirm coverage and out-of-pocket cost before the appointment. No surprises at checkout.
Your appointment starts when we said it would. We'd rather over-block than make you wait.
You'll see the same dentist year after year. They'll remember your last visit without checking the screen.
